I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
